Lost in Acceptance
Hey I’m Cody Augustyn. Well, my story starts out in middle school. In 6th grade I started living a life of hatred and crime. I started smoking cigarettes, doing drugs and drinking. I lived that way for 4 years. I had nowhere else to go, or so I thought. This year started out bad. I got kicked out of my house, committing crimes, and doing things that I shouldn’t have been. But I decided to go on a High School retreat. I was going because I had nothing to do for the weekend and I heard that there was going to be a lot of activities. I didn’t plan on believing in God, I had way to many doubts. But God had completely different plans for me. I met new people like Chris and Rose Kreslins, Alecia, Noah, Nate, Conner and Melissa. They all have helped me change and stay strong in my faith. While I was on retreat, I heard these two songs that got it all started for me. Here I am to Worship and The Heart of Worship. There is one saying that sticks out to me the most. I’ll never know how much it cost, to see my sins upon that cross. It tells me that I may think that life sucks, but he died for me. He died up on that cross so that I may be forgiven. That’s a big deal when it comes to my life. Also people who care about me are a big deal. There’s one person who comes to mind. Alecia. She doesn’t judge me, she listens to what I have to say, and she helps me move forward in my life and my faith. Like before the retreat, I kept getting in trouble with the law. Like being on probation for 3 years. A life of crime and drugs may sound fun to some of you, but from a first hand experience, its not. God kept calling for me, but I was too ignorant to answer him. But one day I did. And he took me in with arms wipe open. I had nowhere else to go, nowhere else to turn. And he accepted me when I needed him the most. But think about this. If he accepted me, what’s telling you that he won’t accept you?
