Hello beloved, First and foremost I greet you in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My testimony is very long and detailed, however I will be presenting to you a brief portion of it. My name is Harry Herrera I was born May 2,1973 in El Salvador,Central America. I was around 5-years old when I first came to the United States. I spent part of my childhood in Los Angeles, California, and my latter days in Washington DC/MD. As a child, when I first arrived to the U.S. we lived in the MD/DC area and I was constantly sick due to the transition in the weather. In my country of El Salvador it gets very hot and muggy and I was not ready for the cold temperatures I would meet with in DC. One day while in the doctor's office, the doctor explained to my mother that my lungs weren't fully developed yet and that if I came down with pneumonia I would run a high risk of dying. The doctor's suggestion was that I could either move back to my country until I matured more or move to a more warmer part of the United States. My mother decided to send me to California to live with my father. While in California I lived alone with my father. My dad was a drug dealer, womanizer, alcohol and drug user and a very violent man. There were times when my dad would gamble his money away and we were left homeless. Sometimes we would break into peoples vehicles so that we could sleep inside of them and many times I remember being awakened to the yells of angry car owners that would run us out of their vehicle. There were times that my dad would beat me violently and when he would come down from his high on drugs he would apologize to me. It is important that I note that I forgave my dad then and I still forgive him now. Although my dad never sexually molested me, I did suffer sexual molestation at the hands of other people that my dad never knew about. For had he known, I believe that he would have tried to murder them. My dad was later arrested and deported on drug charges and resisting arrest. That would be the last time that I would see my dad. I was left under the care and supervision of one of my dad's girlfriends. A few weeks later my dad wrote a letter to his girlfriend instructing her to contact my godparents who didn't live too far from the area in California from where we lived in. With the help of my godparents I was able to reunite with my mother who was living in the MD/DC area. I was not even a teenager yet but I had experienced and suffered more than most of the kids that I hung around with could tell about. As a teenager, on one occasion, I was arrested for auto theft and was locked up in a detention center called Boys Village. Arrests and incarcerations became a regular routine for me. I further continued to make some very bad decisions in my life and turned to a life of drugs, alcohol and crime. But through it all God had a plan for me. Out in the streets there was always someone giving me a tract and inviting me to church service. Eventually I would end up in several church services where I would repent and accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior but I would always end up in a backslidden condition. This went on for several years of my life. I was heading to hell and I knew it! My life was in complete turmoil as I was sinking deeper and deeper into sin. But thanks be to GOD that HE met me on my road to damascus. There are many more facets to my testimony but I will share enough with you so you can get the picture. One sunday evening, March 18th, 2001 to be exact, my wife and I, my mother, my sister and her family were sitting in a restaurant. Well, everything seemed to be going normal at first, but suddenly, as I looked around, I began to see actual demonic manifestations in certain individuals faces. I can remember that the demons would look at me with such hatred that I could sense the spirit of death around me. They looked at me as if they wanted to completely annihilate me. I did not mention what I was seeing to no one-at that time I kept it to myself. The next day, March 19, 2001, while at work, I continued to see demonic manifestations through certain individuals. The demons were trying very hard to torment me. It was only by the grace of God that I was able to make it through victoriously and not be taken over by what the enemy was trying to do to me. Later that day, in my apartment, I fell to my knees and began to literally cry out to Jesus. It was that evening that I truly was born again and experienced REAL conversion. As I slept that night, in the early morning hours of March 20, 2001, I had a SUPERNATURAL ENCOUNTER with GOD. THE LORD Revealed HIMSELF to me in the form of LIGHT. While it was still dark outside I layed in my bed fast asleep when suddenly I awoke to the Lord's Presence at the foot of my bed. He stood there in front of me, but all that I could see were His hands stretched out radiating with light. He Walked over to my bedside and gently Grabbed my hands. He then pulled me towards Himself and vanished. But He left me with what I could best describe as a liquid fire and peace flowing all through my body that surpasses all understanding. It was at that moment that I received my calling to the serve God. Indeed I am not worthy. It is a privilege and an honor that He would use me as His servant. In conclusion I would like to add that only by His Grace and Mercy, that from the moment My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ chose to reveal Himself to me, my life has NEVER been the same because I died!
